Something just went down, David, I'm guessing a router at IDNet as access was lost to the forum, Pals, Orange Bikes and the IDNet website.

Just had the same problem, David, I think something fell over for a few minutes.

Does this show anything ?

Rik

No, that's just normal firewall activity, David.

Routers open is there anything you need or want to check ?

Rik

No, I think you've just seen the same effects as us, David. Until I can get an explanation, my best bet is that an IDNet router fell over and cut off part of the web, including the forum.

I have found Speedguide TCPOptimizer really useful in setting MTU RWIN etc. for target site of choice. We tend to tune for download speed, but when congestion arises and pings go out, adjusting to eliminate loss might benefit.

I had mail issues with pop3.idnet.com using Windows Live Mail (a couple of the 60 second time out messages) and a noticeable slowing of page access/refreshing with IE7 at about the same time as David but here in Stafford so it was not confined to David's local area.

I can see nothing that strikes me as relevant in either the Event Log or the Detailed Log of my 2700 Router.  :dunno:
Regards,

Les.

Rik

I'm fairly sure it was a router problem at IDNet, Les. I haven't been able to confirm that yet, but based on last time it happened and the symptoms, that's my gut feeling.
