Some interesting claims regarding speed and compliance being made about the new beta http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/02/24/safari_4_beta_lands/

Time will tell, I guess, Steve. I saw nothing to attract me to Safari when I last took a look, they'll have had to make big strides to get me to move.

I have not used a previous version its certainly slick and its similar in view to itunes listing you top sites akin to the "album view" I suppose it looks good on an imac etc.

I've just tried it on XP, it is fast, but the bookmarks system is a pain to configure.  Managed to import from FF no problem, but arranging them as I want them, phew! :thumbd:

They always seem to make life hard when it comes to organising things, don't they, Mick. :(

Unless you want to organise things in the same way as them, of course!  :)

Same here, but I must admit, it's looking better. I'm still not convinced it's going to be all that popular on Windows, but it might at least stop Mac users using Firefox.

It's a difficult one. I thought I'd prefer it looking more like Windows, but I'm not sure at the moment.

Gary

After all the security issues and bugs with the previous windows version, Im in no hurry to have it on my pc, great on a mac though
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

Does anyone know if there is an 'adblock' type plugin for Safari running on Windows? I have Googled and the three plugins I have seen seem to indicate they are for MacOS.
