Mac Codes

Is there a period of time that an isp must provide a mac code? O2 called me today to say the first one failed, or some such excuse and they will have to try it get it from BT again, I asked for my mac code a day ago now. Any ideas would be appreciated so i can through fact rocks at them

After which you can go to Ofcom. The period of notice starts from the day you request the MAC, the validity is 30 days from when it's issued.

Cheers Guys, its one of those sit and wait games and since today they called me then passed me to 3 different people I'm full of confidence

cant wait to migrate back. Thanks for your help and if needed I'll wave the Ofcom stick, but I'm sure they will get thing sorted before that.

Maybe i've just been damn unlucky over the years but i had to threaten my first ever ISP AOL with a solicitor to get my MAC, they flatly refused to answer my emails, phone calls etc but i finally received it by an email 21 days later...the email contained my MAC and absolutely nothing else, never seen so much white space before.

And my last ISP -SKY took 9 days to answer me by email and that wasn't a reply to the original email, which somehow got lost in the system. The poor dears in sales were so upset in losing me they immediately signed me up for their phone service and 2 SKY TV mixes without my knowledge.....all of which i've been receiving for 3 years already.

Go figure....

amazingly a MAC code was the one thing i didn't have a problem getting from Tiscali Though i did break there acceptable use policy a couple of time to get the email saying there were willing to give me one

Strangely enough when my sister left Pipex/Tiscali, her MAC arrived within the statutory 5 days. The move to iDNet took 3 days from when she let them know the code.

Amazingly trouble free, considering the problems other have had with Tiscali.

When I left F2S, I rang the helpdesk and was sent the code whilst I was on the phone.
