It would seem so, I have Guild members playing though a multitude of ISPs and only those with IDNet seems to be affected.

Indeed, I've just had an email from support, saying they are looking into things.  :)

I still can't do another BT Speedtest, but it seems more like normal now.  It may have been one of those things which requires a bit of digging, and we'll find out more in the morning.  :)

Hi Guys

We cannot see any likely cause for the reports of latency issues here. Everything appears normal on our network. We've not (as yet) received any problem reports from BT and there are no notifications of problems at LINX, LONAP, AMS-IX or SFINX. We'll keep an eye on things.

yeh its been the same for me too. been playing WoW all day, raid time comes and getting 2-4 second lag spikes where everytihng just warps around the screen. Casts taking an age to get off and also getting DC'd as well. Only seems to happen during heavy combat. Tonight is the first time iv seen it happen. Ventrilo ping seems fine and browsing/downloading is fine too. Maybe IDnet should check on Telia in London who they directly peer with (at least on my tracerts). Maybe a router needs a good kick up the arse I dunno.

Hope its better tomorrow night. Hope IDnet can keep us posted.

Hi ID-netters!

First time poster and happy to finally gotten to make an account on these very friendly forums.

All I wanted to ask is if any of the above posters have experienced and improvement and/or if the issues are gone?! How does it look while being online?

Also I wanted to add that based on my test and research it seems that the WoW related ISP Telia, based on london, seems to be largest cause of the issues.

Great day to all,
  Mahgman

Edit: While it looked fine during midnight last night, my question was thus directed at people being online now, and if the problem had returned.

Rik

Hi Mahgman and welcome to the forum. :welc: :karma:

I'm not a games player, so not the best person to advise, but a quick ping test to IDNet shows as normal, ie around 22ms average.

Mahgman

Thank you, guys!

I am at work atm,  so now I will keep my hopes up  ;D Had a hard week and am looking forward for some relaxation time online tonight.

I will have a chunk of beer and a nice pint of Karma if everything works  :P :fingers:

Cheers

Rik

;D

ATM, it looks like there may have been a BT fault at Ealing affecting an area of the country, but investigations are continuing.

Haha, while having been an avid reader of these forums during "hard times", I learned one thing (well more but..):

If its uncertain where a problem lies, its safe to blame BT

Good to hear its being looked at. I hope the investigation is concerning the aftermarth/merits of the incident, and not a still ongoing problem.  :-\

Rik

BT sent a closure notice on the Ealing problem at 23:30, about the time things returned to normal. The problem is that they didn't advise at the start of the incident, so iDNet are trying to get more info from them.

Welcome to the forums Mahgman  :karma:

As far as Warcraft is concerned, everything seems fine this morning, latencies are great for me at least. I think tonight will be the test as it appears to be an issue that manifests itself during peak hours.

Hi All,

We have fully investigated last nights speed and latency issue which affected some of our users, having exhausted all possible diagnostics i can confirm there was no issue on the IDNet network which left us pretty puzzled.

This morning we have been in touch with contacts at BT and the BT Centrals team who have looked at the link between BT and IDNet and failed to find any issue.

We have, however, identified one possibility; we received an outage update from BT which was supposed to go to another ISP but was sent to us by mistake. The update detailed the loss of a Home Gateway which was resolved at 23.05 last night. Our theory is when this Home Gateway went down BT re routed through a different Home Gateway which temporarily affected some of our customers.

Thanks for the update, the timing does seem to coincide with a resolution to the problem so that could well explain things.

No raid tonight for me, but I'll know on Saturday evening since I have an Ulduar trip then. If things are still wacky at that point I'll throw spanners randomly until it resolves.

Thanks for the update, Miriam. :)
