Hi All
Just curious. I'm on this package:
Package: Home SuperMax
Premium Broadband: Yes. 883kbps Upload + Prioritised Traffic

I'm curious about the traffic prioritisation feature. I haven't seen many ISPs offer that. Is this just a lower contention rate or is it a different feature? Is there are a more technical term or definition for it?

Rik

It's a BT service which gives priority to the traffic at the exchange. In practical terms, it reduced my ping times by 4m, for example. In theory contention is also lower, but BT don't quote contention figures anymore.

As Rik says, there is no contention ratio quoted on ADSL2 products. The theory is that your data gets priority at the exchange, so at peak times in particular, you should get a better experience.
