Thinking of asking to get interleave turned off on my line...

Apart from frequent losses of sync, does anyone know if there are other criteria for interleave to be imposed?

I was thinking of error rates... my connection has been up for about a week now and I suppose I've shifted about 6GB in that time.

FEC errors are 15176948, CRC errors 46361. Would that be enough to force interleave?

The jury is still out on trying to get my target SNRM dropped to 6db...

I had interleaving turned off on my line around 3 weeks ago, Bill, my ip profile went up from 6500 to 7150 after about 10 days.

My stats are shown below after almost 15 days connected as you can see my crc errors are just over 3,300 in that time  I do'nt know whether your higher crc error rate would force interleaving back on (someone may be along later who does know) but you've nothing to lose by trying it, it doesn't cost to have it removed and if there is a problem the BT system will turn it back on anyway.  :)

I have interleaving off on my line by default, but I have no idea bout error count and when it kicks in Kitz has this article about it http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/interleaving.htm maybe give IDNet a call and see what they think, if you loose sync and have lots of errors it will just kick back in if on Auto, you do get a faster line but also you could end up with a very unstable one as well. The guys in the office will know whats best I would imagine as they will have your stats.
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

You could give it a try, Bill, but I would strongly expect BT to put it straight back on automatically with those error counts.

Is there a threshold for errors Lance and interleaving kicking in?

I agree with Lance. I think your error count is going to be too high to maintain an uninterleaved line, Bill.

Ah well  :P

I had a couple of oddities when I first sync'd to ADSL2+ (router reporting interleaved but all error counts listed under fastpath), so I suspect I got kicked on to interleaved almost immediately and the router tripped over its own feet.

Not too bothered- I don't do any gaming so pings aren't important, and I can get >10,000kbps on an 11,000k profile so I'm not complaining  ;D

Next is some serious monitoring of the SNR, see if the target will take a 3db drop... I'm not too hopeful on that either  :(

If you don't play games, there's little benefit of having interleaving removed. Good luck with the SNRM fiddling. :)

@Gary

I don't know if there is a set threshold or not. My statement was based purely on my (large) gut feeling and experience.
