OK - I have Joomla installed and working in my webspace, but I'm not as knowledgeable about CSS and XHTML (nor Joomla structures) as I am about goo, old fashioned, HTML. I need a custom template to re-build my site around (I want the overall look to be the same as it is now, but to add functionality that Joomla can provide, and that I know how to do.

Anyone care to offer a guiding hand?

It's probably something I could work out, but I'd say it's also a bit beyond me!

I built my site www.wrracing.net with Joomla, but used a free template, there is nothing customised on it, just panes enabled/disabled etc

That's my problem - I know what I want - and the general look I want to acheive - but not how to get there  :dunno:

A good place to start with is to buy the following book http://www.packtpub.com/joomla-version-1-5/book

Do a search for Joomla 1.5 templates should help you find a template that is close to what you need. Install it in to a temporary location and have a play to see what happens when you switch off or on various parts of the template.
