Hi,

Is it possible to save the log files from the BT Business Hub (2700) onto the server?

I am particularly interested in recording the Access Log.

ps. I'm an IT admintrator who is going on holiday soon and I want to keep a check of the staff time being spent online while I am away from the office.

Thanks

Glenn

I'm not sure myself, but I would think Alan will be able to help.

The Event log and the Firewall log store connection details between the internet and any server on your network.

None of the logs record the activity of individual computers on the network behind the router, you can limit the times of access using the Access Control, while the  Content Control will limit the types of  website accessible to your staff.

What is the date of the referendum for England to become an independent country ?

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

I was hoping that I could set the router to periodically dump the event log onto the main server so I could see the access times etc by the individual terminals.

Would've be handy to see how much time is wasted on the internet while I'm away from the office - while the cats away etc.

Anyone aware of any software which would help?

I'm not sure that can be done. :(

Perhaps something like RouterStats may be able to grab the information off that page, though...

The 2700HGV has a syslog facility , you can get it to send the logs ( but I dont know which ones! ) to a syslog server. Its configured here http://home/xslt?PAGE=J18&THISPAGE=J01&NEXTPAGE=J18
Hope that helps

Lance

I wonder if some macro recording software might be able to help?
