Good question, Pup. My instinct is yes, but without digging out the small print of the EULA, I'm not sure. What are you trying to achieve.

A retail licence is kept on record for 6 months, but I don't know if an OEM licence is the same.

with the new pc im going to order, i want 160Gb drive in 3 partitions, xp 32 bit, win7rc 64 bit and linux 64bit and xp 32 bit on my old 80Gb ide drive as a back up, so if the sata fails i can still use pc. Im going to have a second sata drive for all the files.

thats the plan!  :eyebrow:

All I can think is try it and see, Pup. You're going to have to activate two copies close together, so they may want to ask questions. However, it's all in one machine, so you may get away with it.

Technically you're within the definition of the licence by only installing XP on one computer and only one copy will be running at a time. It should activate fine as the hardware config will be almost identical, but keep the conversation simple if it asks you to phone Indian support :)

The second OEM OS will be seen as just another data partition on the second drive.

I did the very same thing last week and the only problem was with my partitioning software.
