Has anyone got any reports of an outage tonight. I was mid way through a (rather successful) game of Trackmania United when - bump - my internet conection died.

Connected now through my mobile. Sync was fine - and the green light for internet was on - but nada (no net, nothing). Rebooted the router and resynced - but still nothing (can't even get an internet connection light now).

I'm not going through support just yet since it may prove to be transient - but just wondering, is it just me?

Oh - the router is now powered off.

I've been on all evening, along with several others, and nothing's been reported, Steve.

I was fine until 15 minutes ago. Now I can sync - but can't connect. Think I'll go to bed and check in the morning

Strange one. Given that no one else has reported anything, it sounds like an exchange issue. Have you tried leaving the router off for a bit in case it's a stale session?

Gary

No loss of connection here either.  :dunno:
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

dujas

If you live in Manchester or the surrounding area and are on an ADSL2+, then it could be due to BT's 21CN node upgrades.

Simon

Quite possible.  :)

I'm in Oldham, and things seem to be back to normal this morning. Some warning would have nice - I was winning the race :(

As I've posted elsewhere in the forum, I've been having problems intermittently with dropped connections since the weekend and it happened again last night at midnight. I'm of the opinion it's an issue with the exchange rather than my router.

Rik

With that timing, I'd say it's highly likely, John, BT seem to start exchange work at midnight.

Yes, it was precisley to the minute at midnight Rik.

Rik

For some reason, they expect us all to be tucked up in bed at that time. :(

It was midnight here, too. Quite possibly on the nose.

Now I have a new worry. I left the router off all night (didn't want to risk loss of sync errors, too), so when I powered up again this morning, I synced at 8,771 kbs. Last time I was syncing higher than about 7,600 I got an eventual loss of sync, which resulted in a reduced sync and lost half a meg on my profile. I can see it coming again, as I look at my 3.5 - 4.0 SNR :(

My ppp went down at some point yesterday. Sync is up, but no internet. Tried power cycling router which didn't help.  Tried again this morning and it was still down. I will try an alternative router tonight. If I still can't connect then I will try calling Idnet. BTW I'm located in Rayleigh, Essex.  Couldn't see any issues at the exchange on the status checker.

Rik

It's just possible you route through Milton Keynes and were affected by the node problem there, but if it's still playing up now, then you need to talk to support.

I'd have thought Illford is more likely though. :)

Me too, Lance, but BT do work (or not) in mysterious ways. ;D
