Right thanks Rik, tried earlier and no joy.  :thumb:

Take care of all your memories. For you cannot relive them.

Rik

Likewise, Brian. Frustrating as it looks like I've moved to a 4M profile but can't prove it. :)

BT are admitting that the speed test site is broken, atm, over on ThinkBroadband:

http://forums.thinkbroadband.com/bt/t/3705753-re-bt-speedtester-wwwspeedtesterbtcom.html

I couldn't access "myaccount" at BT this morning but it was working albeit on the slowish side this evening!
Regards,

Les.

Looks like it is totally borked now. The site is down.  :comp:

It's strange how someone had to tell BT it's broken. It's like they don't monitor their services. Oh wait... ;D

Or rather they monitor the wrong thing ;)

Email: Dear BT, this is not working.

Tech 1: Uh what. Not sure what this is. What is a profile tester? Anyone? Oh what the hell.

*clicks forward email*

Tech 2: Oh god, the profile tester is down. Damn, I'm not touching that with a barge pole.

*clicks forward email*

Tech 3: Another fault report? I'm just going for lunch.

*clicks forward email*

Tech 4: ADSL profiles? Why is this here? I deal with support for 200 baud modems. Proper stuff.

*clicks forward email*

Tech 5: Oh this sounds serious, perhaps an engineer will help.

*clicks forward email*

Engineer: What the hell? I'm an engineer, not a software engineer.

*charges £100*

*clicks forward email*

Tech 1: Oh no.

It's not just their speed test. A lot of other things are broken at BT.

Just look at their home page, the W3C validator reports 164 Errors, 59 warning(s). Some of their pages, e.g. the one for business internet, don't come up at all. And we all know BT is unable to provide decent telecom services, their 21CN network is a total mess, and they still have no longterm business strategy for providing normal FTTP services.

Just for a minute I thought you were going to post something new! ;D
You can also post 'Broken English' to the list.

 ;D

Let's look on the bright side. They're bound to get things right for the Olympics.

I still can't use the BT speed test site, it produces an error when I enter my details which seems to suggest the site is broken rather than my details are being entered incorrectly.

I would really like to know what my IP profile currently is. Does anyone know of another method of obtaining it?

Rik

There isn't one, Zap. I've always felt BT ought to have a profile finder site, separate to the tester, for those that only want that information. A couple of the better speed test sites, provided they are giving similar results, will probably give you a close enough idea, though.

I'll just go and check the BT site and see if I can get a result.
