I arrived home and noticed my SNR had increased from it's usual 2.5 (I've already documented elsewhere that this is stable), and fearing the worst, checked sync expecting to see a drop. As it happens, sync has increased with SNR (very strange) but that's not what's baffling; since the change won't affect my bRAS it matters not a jot.

Nevertheless, just to be sure nothing was amiss, I did a test at BT. Here are the results:

Download speedachieved during the test was - 6720 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :8538 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 979 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 7150 Kbps

The curiosity is my upstream sync. I thought it maxed out lower than this. Have there been some changes?

Have I lost my way?

I think you are on ADSL2+, which can go above 1200 Kbps upstream.

Very strange, Steve, but then ADSL2+ is a strange beast. ;D

I am indeed, but I thought we were limited to 896Kbs here.

I'm pretty sure Richard is right. Certainly the information on the packages on the Idnet website suggests a much higher sync.

Oh, sorry.  Whenever anyone mentions speed on here, I automatically think it's a complaint!  :)x  ;)
