A member on my PC Pals forum has post a rather amusing problem regarding 'sheep' sounds coming from his computer!  We have just about exhausted all of our ideas on this, so I was wondering if anyone here might have a solution, and would be kind enough to have a look, and possible post in the thread?

I've got no ideas on this one as all the obvious things have been tried, so we need your help folks.

Is he sure it's coming from the speakers?, if so I would favour a virus attack, a jokey one, if not through the speakers then possibly a mechanical problem as Glenn said.
Is there any chance he could record it and put it up on the site, someone might recognise it

Glenn

I presume that the sound is coming from external speakers connected to the PC, if so, how are the cables routed, could they be picking up rf interference?

I see A-squared has been used to scan the drive, has any other malware scanners been used?

We can only go on what's been posted.  SAS and MalwareBytes were suggested, but he hasn't said if he used them.

It might also be worth running HijackThis and posting the log, then we can see if there's anything dodgy running.

New mail notification .wav file?

I was thinking along these lines, perhaps "something" has attached a sound to some obscure system event

There's no place like 127.0.0.1

Simon

Cheers, I'll pass the suggestions on.
