Some of the biggest names on the web have written to Peter Mandelson to express "grave concerns" about elements of the Digital Economy Bill.

Facebook, Google, Yahoo and eBay object to a clause that they say could give government "unprecedented and sweeping powers" to amend copyright laws.  "We urge you to remove Clause 17 from the bill," the letter read.

So he solution is to vote for the http://www.pirateparty.org.uk/ not that I'm criticising their aims, not am I endorsing copyright theft. As with the majority of minority parties, would you trust them to govern the country. Nevertheless - they promote a more modern approach to copyright.

Bottom line - the UK is fast becoming a dictatorship - whether we like it or not.

It's a disgrace, worse than a dictatorship in my view. It'll criminalise the innocent. If the same bill was applied to other conduits of information e.g. the Royal Mail there would be uproar.
