Well, had a fiddle with the phone socket and seems stable though location means it can be knocked

My IP Profile is still set to 12mb so hoping this gets bumped up to the next level - though not sure what this is - some calculator said maximum sync could be just over 18mb and max achievable download of 16mb???

That sync speed will get you a 14M profile, John. To get 16M you need to sync between 18176 and 19295. TBH, I can't see that happening with a noise margin of 2.9db, if anything I'd expect your line speed to drop 500-1000k.
