Opera Software has released a pre-alpha version of Opera 10.50. It is currently only available for Windows and Mac but the Unix version will be available later. Highlights are a new JavaScript engine and a new graphics library.

I have booted up Vista to try it and I am very impressed. It is very fast and remarkably stable for a pre-alpha release.

I didn't know there could be anything before an alpha release. ;)

What new features has it Sebby, I hated Opera on windows and cant see me liking it much on the Mac, it tries to hard to be a swiss army knife and never quite gets there, also it requires tbh...well used to so much input on the users behalf to get it to be happy with some sites I lost interest, its like Safari, great browser, but to much eye candy and one again some sites don' like it, like my bank and GMS Webmail sadly, I always come back to firefox which flies on 10.6.2 really well, better since the 3.5.6 update. £.6 should be interesting but i'll wait awhile to see how it works, they had some issues with the mac version.
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

Sebby

It's not me using it, Gary. :)

I've got browsers coming out of my ears. I still can't decide between Safari, Firefox and Chrome. I don't need Opera in the mix! ;D

A little Verdi never did any harm. ;D

;D Kill evil google and then see which is best  ;) I play with safari but as I said earlier, for me FF is more compatible with certain sites I use, so that for me is my choice for now.

My online gripe with Firefox is the slowish startup time (in comparison to other browsers).

Rik

I suppose it's dependent, to some extent, on the number of addons in use.

I dont particularly mind if its slightly slower, a few milliseconds is not important, once the browser is fired up I leave it in memory anyway so it opens as fast as I need. I only use the english dictionary and AdBock Plus with the adblocking filter and privacy one, I ditched the google privacy plugin as AdBlock privacy pretty much does that anyway, and I did notice it browses faster without it. What I need is compatibility without firing up another browser session  :)

I moved to Opera 9.2 during the Firefox 2 era when it was painfully slow, and didn't actually bother to move back. That said, now we're a full Windows 7 shop I don't mind IE8 at all. Haven't bothered installing another browser yet.

So all we need is your IP address and we can clean your bank account out, then ;)

You'll need to be fast, we've gone through 6 credit cards this year. Traced all of the details being stolen to petrol stations...

Can I ask which brand of petrol stations. Big names or less known ones?

Rik

In my case, So, it's been Shell or BP.

I have only been using bp garages for a while now, the same ones that is, to try and avoid any issues. So far so good  :fingers:
