You don't Baz, it's a fee payable for an 'as is' service. BT would simply argue that the line is delivering a broadband service. OTOH, if you use the bandwidth, you'll cover the fee in a couple of months or so.

well im out of the training period now and am just monitoring things.Had a bit of a slow few days early on but did some testing suggested by support,in the test socket with filter in etc and also did  router reboot at the same time.Things are looking good so far with a BT test showing this

The tester has been showing these odd results recently. Whether it's screwy or the profile mechanism is broken, I really don't know.

Im not complaining but if you look back a few posts you'll see what I have been getting lately,just after the training period.Also did a speedtest.net test and got 3.45 download speed.theres no chance ive gone back into another training period is there as this is how it started when I initially switched.

Baz your connection is always being trained at the exchange the only difference is that during the initial training period you cannot report a broadband fault. Low throughput for a given profile is usually due to congestion somewhere along the path or a high error count

Today my speed is also down, normally get around 5.3mb today I'm lucky to get over 2mb.

Pings are normal though.

As Steve says, line management is constant, Baz, but you're getting correct throughput for your profile, which is correct for the sync speed, iow, as far as BT are concerned you line is behaving just as it should.

I think the speedtest sites and/or the internet in general is performing poorly in relation to the BT speedtest.

I just do not understand the BT tester.since switching  to ADSL2+ it settled down after the training period and I was getting good speeds.Was getting connection speed down of 10685 and up of 888,a 9000 profile and actual speed achieved of around 8750 up to 9000+ sometimes.great 

Had a little dropped connection this week and when it got running again after a reboot got this 12598 down 888 up 9462 actual and 9000 profile.have just looked today and got this
