IDNet really as good as the reviews?

I've been more than happy with IDNet since I joined. Their service is second to none and (as a total thicko where computers are concerned), I wouldn't change to any other.

Current ISP are sound on that, only reason I am leaving is to reduce costs but had this experience from a BT owned ISP (who shall remain nameless) and it took me several long calls to speak to someone who could convince their system that I had indeed migrated away so they should no longer be charging me.

Am looking forward to joining IDN though, still awaiting my MAC, will probably ring shortly.

They have to give it to you within five working days of your request. Your notice period starts from the day you make the request.

Get ready to chuck the rotten veg.

I received a phone call from my ISP today and lets just say they sweetened the deal quite a bit so am staying put for now.

Should I need to move in the future though I'll know where to come :D

I will still pop by from time to time, thanks for all the advice.

Its good to know that Zen can be reasonable , It does make me cross though when you threaten to leave a provider of any sort that the offers start flowing. What about the rest of the customers I say!

I'm guessing they matched iDNet's packages as they usually do.  Where iDNet leads, Zen generally follow.....

Most here are very happy with a superb service, you will not regret a move to join us. However, like Zen, IDNet provide a superior service and you may not experience a saving in cash as to provide this service a little more cash must be paid.

There are a lot of pluses and minuses that you must take into consideration, the main ones are that IDNet don't charge for uploads, and if you sign up to pay annually their 30 day contract still applies which is a real plus as paying annually offers a nice reduction in costs without any penalty.

It will be a good move for you but 'saving cash' must be your decision after taking the minuses & pluses into consideration.

We were wondering at the begining of this year if IDNET would respond to competitive pricing pressure. They did and more. We all benefitted, not just those that threatened to leave. I hope Zen will do the same.

As someone who is sadly having to leave IDNet, I still recommend it to everyone who asks :) I cannot fault the service or support. The only reason I'm leaving is due to BT and their lack of dates for ADSL2 in my area, and my need for faster upload and download speeds. I'll be back as soon as they activate ADSL2 here (or sooner if Be turns out to be not so good :P).

I thought I'd pulled off a major coup yesterday but a bit of a surprise was waiting in my email this morning.

Received an advance DD collection notice (as I always do) for £17.99 not £15 as I thought so am not best pleased  :mad: (its fine if you are a business customer as they can get the VAT back but quoting £15 as a core price and sidestepping HM Treasury's cut to retain my custom gets my back up)

I have mailed CS asking whether this was due to a billing error but if it wasn't I'm getting my MAC and heading over to IDNET next week.

That is sneaky.

I can say Idnet's billing system has always been totally accurate and transparent for me. You can always view invoices in your control panel.

Some people get a shock when they join as you often get 2 invoices together, this is standard , one is for the part month and the second is the next full month and is NOT collected till the due date.

Have been with IDNet for a good while now, since 2006 (with a brief year out when I was in shared accommodation where we had Virgin cable which was the worst service I have ever had). Always thought highly of them. Their support has been first class.
I'll always stay with IDNet.

Not sure if this also applies to broadband, but for the phone service you can choose the date of the invoice.  It means you will get a couple of 'non-standard' invoices as they do the adjustment, but after that you get them on the date of your choice.

Can be quite handy for planning your monthly outgoings  :)

For the record I've been with iDNet for just over a year and would echo all the good things that's been said about them.
