My sisters connection has been having problems too. I haven't noticed anything, but I haven't been relying on it much in the recent days. Apparently they're seeing DNS problems too.

It looks like DLM may have kicked your target noise margin to 9db, Baz.

Baz

yeah can try. do you mean the actual test socket or the main incomer which is where I am now, always have been about 1 metre away from it

Rik

The main test socket, Baz, we need to rule your internal wiring out.

Baz

nothing has changed in the wiring side for years Rik, dont mean it to sound as if im  doubting your advice, sorry

have an ADSL faceplate on and no ring wire.

Rik

The test socket is the demarcation point, Baz. IDNet will ask you to use it before they involve BT.

Baz

before I go,BT test is

Download speed achieved during the test was - 308 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :561 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 368 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 4500 Kbps
The throughput of Best Efforts (BE) classes achieved during the test is - 17.53:31.17:51.3 (SBE:NBE:PBE)
These figures represent the ratio while sententiously passing Sub BE, Normal BE and Priority BE marked traffic.

The results of this test will vary depending on the way your ISP has decided to use these traffic classes.
