Thats it, I'm posting my results from work on Wednesday where we have a 1 Gbps connection and I get about 55 Meg to the desktop.

Tina

are we all very jealous? Don't people normally gets those stats?

Rik

Your upstream is about average for ADSL2+, Tina - even I get it. It's the downstream that we're all drooling over.

The service you're connected to, Tina, 'up to 24Mb'. ADSL1 is the 'up to 8M' service, and before that we had the fixed DSL services at 512k, 1M or 2M.

Tina

ah now I get it. Are most people on ADSL2 + now?

Rik

No, it's totally dependent on BT equipping exchanges, and they haven't got around to most yet. :(

Rik

Me too, but I'm the only person on the staff whose exchange has been upgraded, which gives you a rough idea of the 'exclusivity' of ADSL2+.

Tina

wow! So that's why my stats are so good? Cos it's ADSL 2+?

Simon

Mine has, but I didn't go for it, as it's proven to be unstable in some cases.

I didn't realise that. You might as well go for it, as if it doesn't work out, you can be remodulated to ASDSL1, but retain the u/s gain and bandwidth.
