Is it possible to apply for a one-off change of ip address or am I stuck with this one forever?

Steve

I would have thought so,don't think you'll manage it before Monday though.

Why do you want to change IPs? IDNet issue static addresses which will usually not change.

OK thanks.  I'll give IDNet a bell on monday, see what they say.

Rik

What problems are you having that you need to change it, Klipp?

Perhaps they are visiting a forum where the IP address has been banned because a previous lease holder did something that is frowned upon

Rik

That's what I was wondering, Mitch.

I used to run a web service from my computer which has now been discontinued but there are many clients still automatically pinging me all the time which is flooding my router log with blocked requests.

Technical Ben

Can you stealth/ignor the ping requests?
I use to have a signature, then it all changed to chip and pin.

The only problem there is that whoever gets that IP next will inherit your issue. :( Can you not just ignore ICMP rather than block it.

That happens anyway with dynamic IP's and anyone joining a new ISP gets a second hand IP address.
