Android Calendar alternatives?

I've just been playing with a friend's SE X10, and it seems the only available calendar application is Google Calendar.  I really don't want Google reading all of my appointments, and as this is an essential tool for me, it puts a big negative on Android phones for me.  Is there an alternative calendar application on the HTC Desire, such as HTC's own Calendar?

Glenn

There are plenty of calendars available from the Marketplace, Simon, but I haven't tried any.

HTC Sense also has one installed on the phone.

I know the HTC HD2 has it's own one, but I wasn't sure if the Android version did.

I don't think I want the Rover K series engine but the VW 1.8L turbo would do fine

Im too lazy a driver for a Vtec,I like a bit of torque low down. However the VW 1.8T can do 0-60 in about 3 secs which is a trifle too quick.

I've always fancied clearing out the garage and doing something similar in the winter. I recall taking my escort mk1 engine out without a hoist,no wonder my back gives me grief sometimes.

Well, I shan't be buying one.  You can do bugger all without it asking you to sign into Google.  I want phone that isn't controlled by a higher power.

The only time I signed into Google, was when I first switched the phone on. No accounts that I can see, sync to them either, what runs in the background could be a different matter.
