I'm new here, hallo. I have a puzzle though so I'm throwing myself on the idnetters to help. What is my stmp password? My mail client asked for it and I have no idea what to put in. I tried my account p/w but it wasn't that. I tried the one I got when IDNet sorted my broadband out. Not that either. Or, do I need to create one for it? TIA.

There are setup guides at http://www.idnet.net/support/guides.jsp, but as Steve said, the smtp shouldn't ask for one. You can only use IDNet's smtp sever for IDNet email.

Light has dawned. (I knew it was better asking here.) I'm trying to email a GMail account and of course, that's a tricky issue (looking at the idnet server thread.)  :slap:

No doubt its a typo in your post but if you do set up an Idnet email account then make sure its 'smtp' (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) not 'stmp'.
