Hi all just joined up with you idnetters,I just completed migration from Ti*cali ( cough ) was on 2Mb speed and could get 1.8Mb.When i first connected with IDNET max with the speedtouch 330 i was getting round 200 kbps speed and in the connectivity box in the task bar it was saying 560kbps so i thought maybe i did something wrong installing so i uninstalled and did again even though i was still getting round 200kbps the connectivity box had gone down to 256kbps for some reason i thought i would try my old sagem F@ST 840 modem i got the same speed but in the connectivity box it was saying 7.7Mbs i switched back to the speed touch again the same speed and connectivity box was still 256kbps also when i click to connect it takes a lot longer than normal to connect is all this normal for your first day on ADSL MAX? by the way only getting 129kbps speed now

hi - for adsl max i hope you have a ethernet modem/router as max doesnt seem to like usb - especially in usb modems

wait for a more experienced member to post or give friendly support a ring  ;)

Hi Rhino and welcome onboard...I should point out I'm not the more experienced member Mrapoc referred to mate. Just hang about...another'll be along in a minute !

M's right about the ethernet router/modem. If you can get one, do so. Secondly either have a scan of the earlier posts in here on adsl max speed, migration, BRAS (not booby holders thank you...down Coopes down !) and getting your connection trained.

If I'm reading your post right you've come over from 2Mb and gone up to ADSL Max so will be going through the 10 period where the exchange figures out how goo/fast a connection it can give you.

Unfortunately depending on all the usual dsl caveats, line length, end user equipment and other hocus pocus it is best simply to sit it out, wait a few days without being tempted to tinker (too much !) and see how it all evens out. If it's still cr*p in 2-4 days, give Miriam a call...she's a star !

If Rhino's who I think he/she is ;) the Speedtouch 330 was supplied by IDNet when they signed up for Max ???

Hey up just to give you an update my speeds are still low, around 127kbps had problems with speedtouch modem being able to connect ADSL light on modem would not stop flashing so i banged my old Sagem F@ST 800 modem back on and had no problem connecting ADSL light stopped flashing in no time, however dam speed was still 127kbps so i got a Belkin router, still 127kbps!checked line length which is 987m so i emailed IDNET for advice,Simon things exchange has set throughput to 127kbps so will leave the router on and PREY

Fingers crossed. Hopefully you'll end up with speeds like :out: this!

Finally speeds have risen, last night it was still 240kbps but today between 1.8Mbs and 4Mbs but up and down dont know if it had anything to do with IDNET going down in the night. My 10th day today too.
