...with the images that they changed a while back.we've had it before here but cant find it now.any way when you mouse over images they now enlarge a bit,I found it a tad annoying but found you can change it back to not doing this BUT when you click on the image it immediately takes you to the website for it instead of just a small image as it used to before.

What if you just want to look at the image, dont like it,close it then move on to the next one.

frustrating to say the least.  can you change this bit ...haven't found a way yet

Rik

Sorry, Baz, no idea what you're talking about as I only ever use the Firefox search box. I'll move this to computing.

Doesn't happen in Opera ........  it's a FireFox/IE thing and it is a stupid feature that as you say Baz is very annoying.

Rik

What am I meant to be looking for, Baz, if I go to Google UK I get the normal page.

Technical Ben

Yep. Very annoying layout. Quite the opposite of useful.  >:(

Opera CAN do it, just set your site prefernces to Masquerde FireFox .............. I use Opera to get away from all the bloat , dross and unnecessary features of other browsers.

kinmel

IE 8 does it too, you can set Google to open the image in a new tab, or window. Alter " Search settings" in the top right hand corner.

Its odd I always thought Opera came with more than it needs, to much fiddling, but it is a good browser, I prefer Iron on windows boxes as you don't have the hateful privacy worries, but Chrome is very safe (safer than all the others right now) and is very fast, its just that its.....google, and that new google image search thing is horrible.

Doesn't bother me at all, Gary - seems quite a logical way to do things.

I'm ok with it too, is there not a setting somewhere to stop it doing it?
