Graphics card sick

The ATI 5770 graphics card in racing system is sick, updating the drivers has had no effect, I contacted Novatech this morning, within the hour I had an RMA number to return it for testing, before hopefully replacement.

Just sign up to the forum http://wrracing.net/forum/index.php the guys will help you as they are very friendly. They use rfactor to race on, with races held on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday's.

Looks like somethin was overheating?

I got the 5750 in mine, Asus Top edition (better cooling and you can change voltage for ocing)

Already changed the thermal paste - cant believe how cr*p the stuff is the OEMs put on there! I was hitting 100c while benchmarking, changing the paste brought it down to 60-70c overnight!

I remember seeing the instruction manual to how to put together a Macbook. They shipped the production over to China to make it cheaper. So all the instructions had to be in diagrams (I'm guessing they did not want to pay extra to have it translated

). So, they used a picture of a tube of thermal paster and an arrow, for each component that needed some paste... guess what happened. Thousands of models ended up with an ENTIRE TUBE of paste on each chip in the laptop.

Needless to say, they died after a month and needed a RMA.

Whenever I replace an HP laptop systemboard, it comes with instructions to use the entire syringe full of thermal paste on the CPU, around 2.5cc

Oh don't you just love it when they get bitten like that.

TomTom just sent me a customer satisfaction survey to complete, only problem was, it was in Finnish. Needless to say, I couldn't do a very good job of it.

Oddly enough when I have graphics cards dying on me, only ATi cards look like that. It's always the memory on them dying when that happens. On my Nvidia cards when they die, they just stop working instantly, it's quite great having no warning
