My router would not connect this morning

Only had Orange flashing light.

In town on my phone now to post this.

Is idnet down today?

Niall

My connection is fine and has been all day. Maybe it's just a local issue.

No problems here. I believe a total loss of connection would warrant an out of hours call to support.

Ray

It's certainly been fine in my area, my router is showing uptime of over 500 hours and nothing amiss in the logs.

Those with sync and no PPP it may be worth a power down for 30 mins. Otherwise contact support.

Very slow speeds first thing this morning (8-8.30) and a total down about an hour ago for about 5 min, does seem erratic today :dunno:

netn00b

Got home and its still working when the wife is waiting for an important e mail.

netn00b

That number is an answering machine only. We need internet. Grrrrrr

Steve

I think the idea is that someone at IDNet is supposed to check the answer machine on a periodic basis. All I  can suggest is disconnect the router for 30 mins then try to reconnect.

Well I spoke to someone earlier who was going to reset our line? But its still not working and told it can't even be reported to bt til Monday. So at least 2+ days of nothing working which sucks when you rely on it.

arithdcael

PPP back here, was down for something like 12 hours

Have you considered an enhanced care package which will get you out of hours fixes from BT?

You pay an extra £10-20pm, depending on the level of care you need. In return, you get priority repairs, including weekend engineer visits, guaranteed repair times etc. It has to be a business package, though:

netn00b

Well its down again this morning /sigh.

Waiting for a call from support.

netn00b

Well they said everything is ok and want me to try another router. But I only have one! How now many normal people have 2?

Steve

I've probably got about 6 when I can find them all. Sad I know but a spare is always useful.

Ray

I've got five altogether, always worth keeping at least one as a spare, though.
