I've lost my connection and getting a different ip given to me in the router control panel.

My friend on the same exchange has lost connection aswell and he's also with IDnet.

pctech

If you are getting one in the 169 range it can't establish PPP, reboot your router but if this does not work you will need to call support.

Simon

Same here.  Not sure about the IP though.

Exact same problem, I'm on halfway exchange (Glasgow).

I lost connection a few minutes ago and now the router is picking up some really weird ip address. Posting this from mobile.

Glenn

Same here, Paul. I'm not getting an IP address, on my phone at the moment.

Same problem here. Connection dropped, line still synced but the password is being rejected with authentication failure messages.

Wingnutz

Witney Exchange 01993 Oxfordshire also 'down'.... but modem still has 'sync'.

Azy

Got the same problem here in Shrewsbury
What you got back home, little sister, to play your fuzzy warbles on? I bet you got, say, pitiful, portable picnic players. Come with uncle and hear all proper! Hear angels' trumpets and devils' trombones. You are invited!

Daughter just phoned to say her internet is completely down now (Horsham) - thinking it is the usual problem.  Glad I was able to check on here and reassure her that it seems to be IDNet and that she is not alone!  Just told her to unplug router and leave it off for a while - hope this is correct.

Steve

My advice is don't keep rebooting your router it will avoid messing up your sync.

Lost connection here in Newbury as well.

Modem still appeared to be connected, so restarted it, now the DSL light is just flashing (I don't even get to the point of authenticating/getting an IP.)

Same here (Birmingham) showing sync and PPP but incorrect ip address and no Internet.

Good to see everyone has backup connections :-) Personally I'm using MyWi on an iPhone.

Mouseroo

Lost connection in Somerset as well. Still getting ADSL signal, but no data.

Your ability to bang your head against reality in the hope that reality will crack first is impressive, but futile!

I'm actually elsewhere in the world on a different DSL line  ;D

But there is GPRS via Blackberry. Slow as hell though.
