Anyone got any suggestions for a good tv card for my new pc coming through next week?

HD Freeview would be a bonus but not a deal breaker..

PC Specs:
Intel Core i7 Processor 870 2.93GHz
8192MB 1333MHz DDR3 Dual Channel Memory
1.5TB Hard Drive
1GB Nvidia GeForce GTS 240
Windows 7 64 BIT

Nice spec there Paul.

Aren't Hauppauge supposed to be renowned for their TV cards?

Thanks. Cost me £864.55 and thats with 5% off and also got £50 quidco back.

I have a Hauppauge in this machine now (win7 64bit) and get quite alot of trouble with it.

pctech

864 quid, where from may I ask?

Rik

I can see your fingers twitching from here, Mitch. ;)

Same with this computer I am on now..

Its specs are :

Inspiron 530 Intel Core 2 Quad-Core Processor Q9450 (2.66GHz, 1333Mhz FSB, 12MB cache)
Memory Dual Channel 4GB (4x1024MB) 800Mhz DDR2
Hard Drive 500GB
512mb GeForce 5950 GT

If I wanted to upgrade this one I would have had to buy a new mother board, memory, cpu, gpu & psu so thought I'd get a new machine that is future proof for a few years.

Shame, they are good for price but had an absolute nightmare when I ordered a then top of the range XPS 600 in 2006.

I'll just have to go on saving.

Damn. I've never had any problems with dell or there computers, this one is a dell, one before that was and so is my main laptop.

I phoned them before ordering this new PC just to make sure its future proof and can upgrade the memory etc and they said I can have a total of 16gb in this model & any of the I7 cpu's (same socket)

I'm sure it'll be fine, just seemed be a problem with the route between Limerick and MK (they are built in Poland now as the Limerick factory closed)

Well it came today and I'm happy with it so far, just the painful process getting everything installed again.
