Help with port forwarding

I need some help with port forwarding with different routers.

Every time I install a CCTV system it is now required to log onto via the web. I find I get confussed when trying to set up port forwarding and have to rely on the help line from the dvr tech service taking over the router remotely to set it up. This is getting a bit of a nuisance as they are not always available. The latest one is a Phillips router but the last two have been 2 wire and a netgear. HELP
