Weird. It's fine and immediate for me. If it doesn't sort itself over the weekend, contact support on Monday, Rick (we just missed them for tonight).

All working perfectly OK now with Opera, IE and Chrome.

Rik

Phew. It was going to be a long weekend otherwise. ;D

Is there a YouTube status page somewhere?

dudwell

Aargh!!  It DID work a few minutes ago but it's misbehaving again! I'm abandoning it for an hour or two.

pctech

I don't believe there is a status page.

I missed this thread. My daughter who spends a huge amount of time on YouTube has been complaining about it being dead slow for around a week. Being a dutiful father I ignored her and got on with the more important things in life.

Anyway, now I'm trying to view a video myself, I can't even get to YouTube's home page. If I try to navigate to specific content I get a page devoid of CSS rules and that takes around 30 seconds to resolve.

There's definitely a problem somewhere.

I've just had a friend, also with IDNet, complaining that YouTube is 'broken'.

I've had no problem with Youtube, working just fine. I'm not using IDNet DNS, try using Norton DNS 198.153.192.1

Worth a try.

I've tried 3 DNS settings in the last 20 mins OpenDNS,IDNet and Norton (thanks Ted) plus a reset of Safari and FF performance is very intermittent  for me and searches very slow or no result.

All very strange  ???

Just watched a 9 min vid, no buffering, subscriptions list loads quickly, searches are fast  :dunno:

Well, Youtube's working one minute, next minute it's broken again, it's very random and it explains why some of you are saying it's either working fine or it isn't, just by chance it was working at the times you tried it.

Yes, it's broken again btw.

Oooops, gone walkies again. I think it's fair to presume that utube has the probs, not us!!

t22design

YouTube has been very slow for me today. It takes forever to actually get to the videos, but then the videos seem to load fine.

I assumed it was their problem, but hadn't seen other people complaining, so I thought I'd have a look here.

At least I know it's not just my computers.

Home page sticks at 5/8 Elements with Opera.

Surely there must be a forum where YouTube's foibles are discussed? I can't find it though....

Rik

You would have thought. It might be worth a look round thinkbroadband.

Same here, but it wasn;t 20 minutes ago. Nothing caught my eye on tbb and a quick Google was of no help either.
