Burns Night seems to have become another marketing ploy this year - Asda are doing a special on IronBru. ;D

What does that stuff taste of? I work with someone who only drinks that but I've never been tempted to purchase a can.

 ;D

It's indescribable, Mitch. You just have to try it.

I'll pop to the shop at work tomorrow and buy a can, then I'll let you know whether its indescribable or not  ;D

Rik

Well, if you can describe it, it'll be a first. ;D

Probably :D I have been spending lots of dosh on Steam recently. Think I've bought about 8 games in the last 3 months :D

So £15 in total? Those special deals are great! :D
I use to have a signature, then it all changed to chip and pin.

I think I'll send IDnet an email. My speed is still just under 7mb now. My sisters line went completely the other week with a LOT of noise making it unusable and I could hear noise on my phone line again, and now I have a 7mb line. My only thought is that maybe interleaving has been turned on due to the noise caused by whatever BT were doing around here a couple of weeks ago. There's been nothing changed either here or at my sisters house regarding internet, so it's too much of a coincidence. It's probably been like this for a while and I haven't noticed as all I've been relying on recently is the upload for photos.

Have a word, Niall, they're there for the next 50 minutes.

I've sent an email. There's no real rush as I only use the upload with any sense of urgency. Still, 14mb is nice to have if you're downloading games as I seem to be doing a lot, and demos, etc from Xbox live.

Had an email from IDnet today informing me a line reset has been done. As I sit here in work my line should be nipping along nicely :D

Although I have curry so I still think I'm winning :D

Well it'd gone up to 7.9 when I got home, and I've just rebooted the router and it's a smidge over 8mb now. I imagine it'll slowly increase over the next few days, although I did expect it to reset to the 14mb I had before.

Ah well, time will tell.

Run a BT speed test and post the results, Niall.

Niall

Download speedachieved during the test was - 6344 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 2000-7150 Kbps.
IP Profile for your line is - 6000 Kbps
The throughput of Best Efforts (BE) classes achieved during the test is - 19.73:17.55:62.72 (SBE:NBE:PBE)
These figures represent the ratio while sententiously passing Sub BE, Normal BE and Priority BE marked traffic.

The results of this test will vary depending on the way your ISP has decided to use these traffic classes.

Aw it's even worse now :(

Time  to move the router to the master socket, or preferably the test socket, Niall.

I can't be bothered yet. I'll just unplug the router at some point and see what it's like after a 30 minute power down. There doesn't seem to be noise on the phone line and I haven't had any issues, and nothing has changed here. It's just that issue that happened with my sisters line really makes me think the exchange has done something recently.

I'll have a rummage through my power cables too as I do need to unplug a couple of things since I moved things around in this room. It's possible I've shoved a load of power cables in with the router cabling and it's causing issues (I don't think I have though).

Powering down for 30 minutes is only really needed with a stale session, Niall, a straight re-boot should sort any sync problems out for you.

Memories of spam fritters probably the wrong thread.

Ah so this is where it went.   I knew I posted but couldn't find it in the spam thread where I thought I had put it. The trouble with having several threads in different tabs.  :slap:  I seem to have had an aberration typing proper English too.  :slap:  :slap:

Rik

It's the magic we weave across the forum, Dill, everyone loses their short-term memory and becomes disorientated. ;)
