Bill

I noticed it this morning, it wasn't there on Wednesday...

They've alse broke a bit of it- if I try to run it using Opera it says I haven't got Java installed! Oh yes I have >:(

It's OK on Safari though.

.Griff.

It must have happened at some point in the last 24 hours as it wasn't there this time yesterday.

Rik

Does it use a larger download with the fibre setting have you noticed, Griff?

I'd love to answer your question Rik but...

The Performance Tester is currently unable to run a speed test for your broadband connection. Please try again shortly, however if this problem persists, raise the issue with your service provider.

The options are FTTP or ADSL/FTTC, so not many people will be able to answer that!

Who's idea was it to roll out an update on the weekend when no one is in the office to fix any problems?
Perhaps they thought a Sunday was quiet so not too many users putting a strain on the system?
I use to have a signature, then it all changed to chip and pin.

Bill

Weekends will be at least time-and-a-half, but I'm sure that's entirely coincidental :P

At least one report that it's broken on Firefox/PC as well...

No surprise there then, Bill.  :shake:

Also a failure on IE (don't know which version)... but the other user is also on FTTC, no reports yet of failure on non-FTTC connections.

Odd, I can't believe even BT would break it on the most common browser around!!

Rik

Didn't it only work with IE in its early days? BT are probably testing with IE6 for that matter. ;)

Another failure (all these are in the Fibre forum on tbb) with Chrome... all on FTTC.

But it still works for me with Safari :dunno:

Maybe BT have switched to Macs, Bill. ;)

Bill

From Commodore PETs, you mean?  :P

A failure on ADSL2+ reported now, so it looks possible that BT have broken it properly. Again.

I like to see them do a thorough job. ;)

Yep down for me too. Not on FTTC or anything.
I use to have a signature, then it all changed to chip and pin.

Bill

At least it gives a bit of variety... on my Mac:

Opera- complains there's no Java and fails if you try to run the test.
Camino- complains there's no Java but successfully completes the speedtest.
Safari- runs with nary a problem.

Go figure ;D

Just tested BT Tester, working for me on OE. :o
Brian

Take care of all your memories. For you cannot relive them.

Rik

Careful, Brian, that means they're watching you. ;D

I guess its playing up again

Download speed achieved during the test was - 10788 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 2000-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :9740 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 888 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 8000 Kbps
The throughput of Best Efforts (BE) classes achieved during the test is - 24.36:27.62:48.03 (SBE:NBE:PBE)
These figures represent the ratio while sententiously passing Sub BE, Normal BE and Priority BE marked traffic.

The results of this test will vary depending on the way your ISP has decided to use these traffic classes.

I wish  ::)
