Three times today I have been disconnected during something very important to me, and all three times I check my router status to find this is the reason. It has been like this four a couple of days now.

From what I have heard about "Chap Authentication Failed" is that its not a problem my side. However a lot of the time that turns out to be wrong information. So is there something wrong my end or is this IDnets problem?

Thanks

Steve

There have been a lot of fairly widespread BT network issues lately and it's sounds like they're dropping your link to IDNet which would fit.

Well it just happened again while I was in a tournament match on one of my games. Thats the last straw. I know these are "BT's problems" yet strangely enough throughout the year and a half I was actually with BT I had less disconnects that the 4/5 months I have been with IDNet.

This is my last month with them, the amount of problems I have to put up with is completely unacceptable.

And again multiple disconnects. After a days work all I want to do is chill out and play some online games with my friends. Yet 5 disconnects due to "Chap Authentication Failed" will not let me do so.

Soon as I can find another ISP that doesn't tie me down with a contract I shall be requesting a MAC code, if thats still how things are done.

While on that topic, how do I go about requesting a MAC code?

Lance

You can either do it over the phone, via email or using the web contact form. Just be sure to give something identifiable if doing it via email or web, such as telephone number.

Your line is all over the place, contact support, see what they saty, what attempts have you made to trouble shoot your end? Checked filters cabling, router etc?
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

Rik

Westy, your line looks to be constantly re-syncing, that large noise margin is actually negative. As Glenn & Gary say, you need to talk to support and get trouble shooting. That problem is between your equipment and the exchange, you've not reached the IDNet network at that point.

I think 'chap authentication' probably occurs more when you pick up a young lady in Thailand just to be safe

I guess that's what I get for living in the country side! The lines down here are ancient.
