My router log shows that I had 1 Hour and 8 mins of 'TimeOut Due to PPP Negotiation: Internet Cleared' from 00:00.59 last night. I can find no mention of any Planned BT Engineering Works on the WMMAL exchange or outages. There wasn't a DSL re-synch until 14:50 this afternoon when the outside air temp rose above 20C. Any thoughts? All looks normal now with a low router error rate.

Are you sure about the timings? I only ask as there was a hostlink blip at around 12.30 today and the fall over to the backup would be seen as a loss of PPP, for me according to my TBB ping monitor it was very short lived though.

Timings as per my Fritz!Box router log which e-mails each day with what has been going on. The 'PPP' negotiation started at 14.06.11 at 00:00:59 and stopped at 01:00:09.

Senior moment - I am allowed one of those a day at my age.!! This all happened 41 hours ago on the 14th not in the early hours of the 15th - sorry. The ADSL re-synch was this afternoon: that was what made me look in detail at the log.

These could have caused the problems, the 0600 time is the finish not start time.

Thanks Glenn. I did check for PEW but I couldn't find anything on the programme for this week. Clearly, I didn't drill down far enough.

It was probably one of these node issues that BT keep having.
