Hey just a quick question.

I'm currently on a flat 1mb ADSL package  (most my line can take, it's still an old IDNET package that isn't offered anymore not sure). Anyway, this week my exchange got upgraded to ADSL2+ and the BT broadband check tells me I should be able to get between 1.5 and 4mb now (most likely 2mb but thats still 2x what I'm on now!).

Just wondering how do you go about upgrading? is it just a case of phoning IDNET support and asking? if so how easy is it to upgrade? do I keep my old login and is there like a new contract with a minimum term on it? or does it just stay on my old contract but with a new speed? Sorry if that's not totally clear!

Thanks in advance.

Lance

Just give IDNet a call or drop them an email (including your phone number). That is all you'll need to do assuming your router is compatible.

Log in details remain the same and there is still just the monthly contract. Note there may be a difference in price between your current package and a ADSL2+ package if its a very old package!

Thanks for the reply. The price is the same (i checked) so I'll just give them a call tomorrow. Ta!

Its a Home 2000 package just limited to 1000 due to dodgy line.

If you've got a dodgy line you might be better on ADSL (up to 8 Meg) rather than ADSL2+ (I have a similar issue)

You can go adsl2+ but you may not see any performance gains and indeed your connection may perform poorly, however as the previous post indicated you can be reprofiled back to adslmax on an adsl2+ connection which should ensure a degree of stability with the additional benefits of adsl2+ remaining i.e an increased upload and increased download allowances.
