Being reported on El Reg this morning. Nice to see Norton is still able to protect us, NOT.  >:D

Aside: I wonder whether anti-phishing protection is such a good thing? Like spell checkers, we come to rely on it, and if it fails, we are lulled into a false sense of security.

The grammar and syntax are the dead giveaways, unfortunately they will not even be noticed by many. ::)

How true. Still, we erudite surfers have an additional layer of anti-phishing built in.  ;D

Curiously, I received an email from one of my regular suppliers this week, requesting me to update my details. The grammar was crude, the layout worse, so I phoned them to check. They assured me it was genuine, sent out by a new employee. I advised them to have a look at the email, and then consider whether their interview techniques might benefit from some refinement!  >:D

Also that their pay structure was in line with their company's expectations.

;D

Something to do with monkeys and nuts..  ;D

Agreed. I couldn't find a monkey smiley, but I did find this...

It's one I think I may return to often! :)

How can you tell that from the official page that should have came up?

I didnt notice anything dodgy in the URL bar at a glance...eek  :o

Lance

I suppose it's simply because it is asking for all of those details. As you should know, on anything sensitive like that, such as online banking, you will ever be asked for a complete set of details.

Along with the poor grammer Rik pointed out of course.

The  poorly translated English was the dead giveaway for me.. but I suppose if you have a hangover, you may not have noticed..  ;)

Of course some people wouldn't notice anyway..
