Do you use Rapport on XP?

If so this may be of some help to you, the latest update is causing XP to boot to a blank screen on some installs, hitting F8 and selecting 'Last known Good' will allow the PC to boot, but will not update the registry to fix the problem. Uninstalling Rapport fixes the problem, which Trusteer are aware of, they are currently working on a fix.

Rather an obscure one to diagnose, I should imagine.

Tuxzek, on the link above, found the fix yesterday afternoon after digging in the registry and comparing 2 or 3 different PC's with the problem.

It's nice having people to do your hard graft for you.  I wonder what the clash is that means it only affects some installations.

We believe it's something to do with the latest release and McAfee, my PC at work has Rapport installed and it says it's up to date, but it is running a lower version number.  :dunno:

I'd take the McAfee off then. ;)

That's what I said, but it's the Enterprise version running on approx 3000 machines
