I feel I should buy a new gadget

But what? Bear in mind that I rarely leave the house and, when I do, it's usually to visit a medical facility where phones etc are turned off. At home, I've got two desktop machines, two notebooks and a netbook, the latter three machines are rarely used, of them the netbook gets the most use, if I want to do a quick mail check, look something up or do some shopping.

So, do I need a new gadget, and if so which?

My thoughts:

Smartphone - I can't see a use for it given my lifestyle

Tablet - possible, but what would it offer over the netbook, given that I only need mobile data a few weeks of the year, so a 3 dongle plus netbook serves my needs well in that respect. I certainly don't want a data contract, it just would be a waste of money. Also, because of the tremor I have, would I be likely to find a touch screen hard to operate?

Kindle (or similar) - I'm intrigued by them, but, once again, the advantages of portability are minimal for me. Having spent my life working with fonts, I'd also miss the variety and subtlety the printed book offers in the respect. Am I wrong - and if I am, am I better going for the new Kindle, or the larger wi fi/3G version with keyboard?

Or should I just buy myself a backscratcher? ;D

Too expensive - it would cost me about £4k to re-purchase all my fonts. :(

I don't know why, because I'd never justify it, but I've always fancied one of those ridiculous £4000 coffee machines.  :)

So do I, but I don't ever drink coffee - they just look and smell nice. :)

or how about this, ideal if you don't want to leave your house and still want to know what's happening outside
