Hi all,

So i've had to report a problem today to idnet, i kept getting logged of msn/yahoo and vnc connections would also get disconnected..

I got told i had 31 re-syncs this morning.

I've moved the router downstairs to the phone socket to see if that helps and to take the internal wiring out and will let idnet know monday how my connection is. If its no different then BT will come out.

My router used to be connected by a 20m RJ11 making sure not to go near electrical cables, I'm looking to replace this with better quality cable as i dont like using wireless for my main computer and theres no plug sockets near the phone socket.

Does anyone have any suggestions where i can get this high quality cable and the little connectors for the ends and any other tools needed for this job. I will be looking for about 30m of cable and only be using about 21m.

Regards,
Paul

If you've got a Maplin handy they sell CW1038 and Cat5, I'd tend to use the latter.

What is CW1038?

Havent got a maplin near me :(

Do you know any sites i can order from except from maplins?

Rik

Clarity would probably be your best bet then. CW1038 is the specification for BT internal wiring, unless I've got my numbers in a twist again!

Clarity can supply the cable, connectors and tools though. As I say, I'd probably use Cat5, or even 5e.
