Just a quick message to any Idnet LLU users in the Springburn area. Be's DSLAM's have suffered "damage" and they are reporting that connections will be down for quite a while - "It seems the exchange will be down for quite a while due to physical damage to the equipment".

No problem Steve.

The source of the information is here - https://avatar.bethere.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=41690 - however you need to be a current Be customer (or an ex-customer with access) to be able to access it.

Edit - Basic information on the outage here - https://avatar.bethere.co.uk/networkStatusScreenForForum.do

Edit 2 - It seems the exchange was flooded so it may be some time before it's resolved.

I wonder if BT equipment was affected too?

Most likely, I would have thought their equipment is in the BT exchange.

I just wonder if BT have put their own stuff up high, and the LLU down low.

The BT equipment most probably is affected too but I can only pass on the information I've been given by Be which obviously only makes reference to their own equipment.

Rik

It's just not good enough, Griff. ;)
