If anything I'm even more stunned with going from >30ms ping to 7ms! ;D

You may find over time your ping increases, mine is currently over 30ms

I would agree Glenn, there's no guarantee of low latency with FTTC mine's still below 20msec to IDNet but only just . My adslmax connection was superior in terms of latency.
