Changing fibre package

Being outside my minimum 12 month contract I would consider moving from 'Home Pro Fibre' to 'Home SuperPro Fibre'.

There would be an additional cost of £12.25 per month.

My question is, would this move create a new minimum 12 month contract?
Would I be able to reduce my package again to 'Home Pro' at any time without penalty?

What I am looking to do is upgrade my package now and reduce it again around June when my usage reduces over the summer.  Maybe increase it again next winter.

I think you need to talk to support, in general if no exchange work is involved they're pretty flexible and once you've served the year on fibre I don't believe the minimum notice is any longer than a month

I'm pretty sure the 12 months minimum term is imposed by Wholesale/Openreach on the ISP who in turn pass it onto the customer because the circuit is being provided to your home/business.

This is to ensure they earn a return on the work required to install and maintain the product which costs more to provide than standard ADSL because a DSLAM has to be installed in each cabinet.

Having just done this, I can tell you that there's no new contract, and no fee to upgrade.

However, there is (I think) a regrade fee if you migrate back down to the lower band product, but I think it's only perhaps a tenner or so. Best to mail support I guess.
