Hi,

I know this is going to result in a dead-end, but I'll put the question anyway...

It appears most of the town I live in (Bury St Edmunds / EABSE) has FTTC available, and has for some time now - but some areas do not.  Is there anyway/anywhere to find out if/when the rest of us will get FTTC availability?  ???

thanks,
Nath

Post the question on the www.thinkbroadband.com FTTC forum, with your postcode, several members there have the details.

BT expect to enable around 80% of cabinets in an Exchange area. Cabinets that are close to the Exchange will not be upgraded as BT feel that those lines probably get a decent enough service from ADSL2+. Cabinets that are a long way from the Exchange or do not service very many properties (e.g. small industrial estates) will also not be upgraded because the cost would be too high bearing in mind how few lines that could possibly be serviced.

That selectiveness is bound not to be popular.
Simon.
