Frantic... please help

Mu windows 7 laptop as been playing up lately. This morning I woke up to find text-enhancer had been installed on my lap top. I read about it, and deleted something in Firefox addons, and it fixed it.

A little while later, my laptop shut down. When I pressed the power button nothing happened Then a little while later it switced on and said windows had recovered from a crash and would notify me if a fix was found for the issue.

I'm scared I've infected my comp. I have windows security on it. Please help me. Thanks

It's switched off again and won't boot. On my phone

Can you boot into safe mode and do a System Restore, Tina?

It's not something I've come across Tina but it maybe malware related but I'm still surprised the laptop won't boot.

Yes it's just doing it now. Wasn't sure where to restore from. In tears

Managed to do a restore to yesterday.  but it's still running  very slowly and stuff

Has the 'thing' gone?  If you messed with Firefox, it might be worth reinstalling that too.
