Office 2013

Purchased this through work and am in the process of it downloading and installing at the moment though supposedly I can use it while it install as it streams from MS' servers.

It seems to really want you to sign in but I really don't want my files in an MS data centre somwhere.

More feedback as I go along.

God. I hate all this cloud based stuff. Why can't I just store my own stuff on my own machine?

Just before I saw on Scan's Facebook page "But if you bought your Office 2010 between 19/10/12 and right up to 30/4/13 you can download and upgrade to 2013 for FREE!"

I can get Office 2010 for £8 through work, so I think I'll do that on Thursday

That means that Microsoft are punishing those who purchase and upgrade on time. So if you don't bother to upgrade until the product is nearing the end of it's life we will reward you.

Worse. When I trialed it, it installed a virtual drive to run the streaming system on. While that is high tech, it was an unwanted complication, so I uninstalled it.

Rwally Ben, cant see anything under computer but haven't yet launched Skydrive and dont really want to.

Upgrade through work cost me about 17 quid as ordered a backup DVD.

They might have changed it since. It actually appeared under device manager and everything, and for whatever reason I found it too much of a pain. Ah, now I remember, it forced it to go into an "update" cycle every time it streamed something (either as it downloaded patches concurrently or whatever), so I could no longer hibernate and had constant update being applied when I just wanted to PC to restart quickly so I could do something.

I'll bet the new Windows will do that too

Found a bug.

Outlook does not seem to like outgoing mail SMTP scanning plugins (Using Avast at the mo but seen reports for other AV) it crashes
