Any thoughts on connecting a Netgear universal range extender to a 2-Wire 2700. I have been trying for an hour and just gave up. If no one can help it goes back to PC World in the morning.  :eyebrow:

I had the same problem Den, and a solution seemed to be to turn off stealth mode on the 2700.

::) What is stealth mode when it at home?  :eyebrow:

It's a tickbox in the Firewall settings, Den, but I've changed to a Netgear DGN2200 since.  The image below in no way relates to my own router, and was simply 'borrowed' off the web, but it does show where the setting is.  I'm also not sure what, if any, security implications may result from disabling Stealth mode (maybe someone else can advise), but you may only need to disable it for the purpose of setting up the extender, then it may all still work if Stealth is enabled again.  Can't see what harm it would do to try it, anyway.

I'm afraid I can't help, but I did set up a range extender with a 2700 at my boss' place a few years ago but it wasn't a netgear I don't think. Still working to this day.
