Is anyone else finding it difficult to edit text messages, because the cursor won't go where you want it to?

Nope, I'm finding it better than iOS 6, it used to jump to areas I didn't want, now it goes to the area and stays there.

I've found another problem, with my Ipad if you use your home WiFi connection to back up to Icloud, it nearly kills your BB connection, download and upload speeds drop to dialup speeds, web pages on the Pc take ages to load,    cancel the Ipad backup and everything goes back to normal.

I've not succumbed to iCloud yet, so can't help with that one.

Perhaps notifications weren't turned on Zap or it could be a recent App update.

I'm not really sure. They were certainly on because they were pushed to the lock screen but once unlocked I could never retrieve them again. It could have been a user issue though. I'm finding quite a number of functions and wondering if I had them before or not.

I wonder if it was the iCloud servers that were busy and your connection was fully occupied going nowhere, I've not tried an iCloud manual backup yet but I guess it may have happened overnight automatically.


Edit - just tried a manual backup it took all of 10 secs but it has backed up automatically since the update.

You could be right, Steve, I did notice the time remaining kept increasing and was up to 50 minutes when I cancelled it. strange mine has never done a backup since the update, I'm just trying another manual one to see what happens.

Edit: well it has completed this time, took nearly 20 minutes though.

I'm liking iOS7 so much I've decided to buy an iPad My daughter's laptop has stopped being useful so I've given her mine and I'll replace it with an iPad. The things we have to do for our children eh?

The stupid thing is I tried really hard not to like iOS7 probably because of all the negative reviews and because I really like the look of the HTC One. As it is I think it's fantastic.

Gary, thanks for the tip about turning "Bold" on, it really makes a difference and makes the OS look much better

Definitely. I've just spent the best part of an hour in Tesco looking at an updated top of the range model which was stuffed with apps and data. So impressed was I that I started thinking in terms of getting the 3G model

Zappa, if you can wait there are reports up updated iPads coming out very soon.

I've heard that as well, thanks for the reminder, it may well be worth waiting a while.

I got the 3G model, thought it was a luxury I could do without but it's just so convenient.

TBh I think the extra £100 is to high a price to pay for the iPad with 3G. If you get the Three MiFi you can have up to five devices running off it as a mobile hoptspot, it fits in your pocket and is really useful, you can use it for both iPhone and iPad and not have a huge data plans on iPhone. Thats just my take. Better to spend more money on capacity than 3G I think.

I tried the MiFi, it is an option but I kept leaving it all over the place,in  the end it was too much trouble for me, anther device, another charger. I use the same data plan on the iPhone just over a £10 a month.

I can see your point but for me its convenient to have a cheap iPhone plan spend more money on the iPad as the 64/128 with wifi is hugely expensive. Also if my connection goes down at home I have another way to connect to the net and at great speeds too with an all you can eat data bundle, horses for courses really. Also it depends how often you take your iPad out. The majority of iPads sold are actually just wifi ones, I guess people are using them at home now rather than a main PC. I would be lost without mine. I'll wait till the iPad 6 I don't trust the anodising that may end up on iPad it will scratch way to easily on the back. So many iPhone 5's ended up badly scratched.

Saying that if I was going to buy one now I would wait, no point in buying an iPad 4 when its so close. Hopefully the new ipads next year will have 802.11.ac like many of the new smartphones.

I have a special pouch under my wheelchair seat so the MiFi stays in there so I dont forget it

The next iPad sounds like it'll be quite an upgrade assuming the speculation is correct so I'm definitely going to wait to hear something official before I buy.

I'm waiting for the next iPad mini before I buy my next iPad.

I also use Three MiFi.. very useful, buy a bigger battery online or an external USB battery and you can leave it on all day with good usage

My 4S no longer works as it should with my Sony speaker docks, in that the device cannot be controlled by the docks.  I used to be able to plug the device into the dock, press Play on the dock, and it would resume my 'shuffle' playlist from where it was last paused.  Now, pressing Play on the dock does nothing, and I have to go into the phone Music app to start the music playing.  More annoyingly, this means I can no longer use the dock with 'sleep' mode set to switch off, say after 30 mins, as the 4S will no longer stop the music player when Sony dock powers off.  This seems to be the case on all three of my Sony docks.

Further, the Shuffle mode on the 4S no longer seems to be working as it did, in that most times (but not always), it won't resume the playlist from where it was last paused, but will start playing from several songs back, so I have to manually skip forward to the place I want to resume from.  Also, the Play button from the new Control Centre often fails to operate, so I have to go into the Music app itself to start it playing, and closing the Music app now resets Shuffle on my Playlist completely, which I'm not best pleased about.

Has anyone else found these issues?

sounds like they've changed the API a bit then.

I can't really think of what the problem might be but it might be worth rebooting your phone if you haven't already done so. I've not read anything about device compatibility issues and I think we would have done by now if there was anything of that nature. I could be wrong though.

I've posted the same on the Apple forums and have had no responses there.  I've hard reset the phone so will see what happens.

Depending on your dock could there be a firmware upgrade from Sony to address the issue?

I doubt that.  There wouldn't be any way to apply it.
