In practical terms what will this mean for me?
Nothing is perfect, not even my ignorance!

What are you talking about BB, ADSL has been about for around 10 - 15 years now?

Where did you get the information from, BB?  You must already be on ADSL, unless you're still using a dial up modem.  :dunno:

As Simon says you have been on ADSL since 2004 IDNet would have put you (I take it you are with IDNet) on an ADSL Max package (2006)  when you joined. Can you do a speed test? This info means nothing to you unless like Simon says you are using a 56k modem and dial up which really would not make any sense.
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

I misread it,saw 2014 instead of 2004, got my knickers in a twist, I apologise to one and all. :red:

Sadly having looked there's no immediate hope of anything else.

Don't worry, it's an easy mistake to make. Especially as some less than honest Broadband sales companies will try to tell you "we upgraded/are upgrading soon" when what they mean is "we are selling to you now, even though we know we cannot deliver". Plus their posted adverts will contain all sorts of frivolous claims.
I use to have a signature, then it all changed to chip and pin.
