OK - the past few days I've had a lot of re-syncs and syncing slower. Speedtests prove this.

As far as I know, nothing has changed - anyone else noticed this?

Steve

Edit - the test below was 7 July - now I'm getting abut 3.7 MBs

I've not noticed anything. have you checked you're filters are ok, it's possible one is on the way out. Might be worth giving support a ring and getting them to text the line maybe.

I'll try a fresh filter first - and check in more detail if BT have been doing any work.

It's not at critical stage yet - just wanted to make sure it was just me for the moment.

Re-syncs would generally indicate a local problem, Steve.

Mine is actually getting faster, I did a speed test at DSLZone last night, I got the fastest speed ever, not the best speed test I know, but I would guess that all speed tests there must be comparable on a like for like basis.

The only thing I have changed since previous tests is my Router, was BT Voyager 2100 is now Zyxel 660.

My result was 6875. ;)

OK - I changed the filter (twice - seems my first spare was already dead and wouldn't sync at all).

I've got my sync speed back, with no re-connects today, but throughput is still slower. OK, it's better than it has been, but still 1Mbs slower than I've been getting. Manchester area, so no real problems with flooding etc. I may just see how it goes on for a little while.

I reckon that with the resync's etc you have had recently, you just need to wait for your profile to recover (which will then up your throughput). It normally takes 3 full days to increase.

If you run a BT speedtest it tells you the profile you are currently on, if you post the results from the test here I'm happy to take a look!

Yep - that's it. Profile has dropped to 4500 from 6000. Ah well, time to play the waiting game again. :(

At least I'm syncing stable at 6912 so I expect it to get back where it was soon.

Just a quick update. Profile back up to 6000 tonight (and I'm hopeful of the next notch with my current sync speed). Looks like it was the filter after all :)

Filters can do that to you, Steve. I'm glad things are improving. :) (not to mention jealous!  :P)
